Flat Stomach - Men Only

Flat Stomach - Men Only by Brian Shelton

Have you been dreaming about being one of those flat stomach men, but nothing you've tried has worked? Still fighting the battle of the bulge?

Many men are in the same boat. So here are some answers to the most frequently asked questions about men and midsections.

1. Should you do tons of crunches to reduce your tummy bulge? 2. How do you reduce fat? 3. What are good stomach exercises? 4. What's wrong with sit-ups?

Tons of Crunches

Doing tons of crunches won't banish a bit of belly fat. Not even a little bit. This theory, called spot reduction, was once popular in the fitness community, but has now been scientifically disproven. New research shows that fat is lost all over your body, and sadly, you can't pick where it comes from.

Reducing Fat

Studies have shown that there are two ways to reduce fat, and you have to use them both at the same time.

* Diet * Exercise

Experts do not agree on what the perfect diet is. But most agree that diets that are low in fat, and high in whole grain carbs, fruits, and vegetables are best for ridding yourself of unwanted blubber.

You don't need to torture yourself while dieting. Have fun and experiment. Use your diet as an excuse to try something new - maybe Japanese or vegetarian cuisine. Who knows? You may find out that you like your new diet better than your old one.

Exercise is a controversial topic because no matter who you ask, you'll get a different answer. It is, however, generally agreed that regular cardio workouts - 3 or 4 times per week - are what you need to burn the fat you have and kick start your metabolism in the future.

Good cardio workouts are: * walking * running * bicycling * Martial arts * Yoga

Make sure to stretch first, to avoid risk of injury.

Stomach Exercises

After you've got a healthy diet and regular cardio, the way to flatten your stomach is by targeted midsection exercises.

A good rule is that any exercise that bends your spine in the lower back region is good. When performing stomach exercises, try to maintain the natural arch of your back. This will make your exercises more effective and reduce back strain.

Sit-ups

For years, men have been told that sit-ups are the best way to flatten your stomach and strengthen your abs. New research has proven that this is incorrect. Sit-ups not only don't work well, but they can also be dangerous.

Because sit-ups only involve, well, sitting up, they don't work your abdominal muscles. They work your thighs and back. They give you less bang for your buck, and can cause lower back pain down the road.

Most experts now recommend that you should avoid sit-ups entirely. Do crunches instead.

Now that you know the answers, you can begin your stomach training on the right track. Remember, with work and patience, you too can be one of the flat stomach men. Good luck.

A Flat Stomach in One Month

A Flat Stomach in One Month by Brian Shelton

How do you get a flat stomach in one month? You're not alone, many ask this same question. The first answer that comes to mind is "I can't", but that's just not true.

With a few simple guidelines, you can achieve your dream stomach quickly, easily, and safely. Follow the plan below, and you can achieve a flat stomach in under 30 days.

Three things are needed to get that stomach: * Cut out the fat; * Develop a cardiovascular routine; * Drink enough water!

Sit ups can help tone your stomach, but they can't burn off any of the fat on it. If you need to lose the belly fat, you need a good diet.

Breakfast has been called the most important meal of the day. What did you have? It was probably loaded with fat. If you didn't even eat breakfast, you have an even bigger dietary problem.

If you want a flat stomach, you need to stick to your diet. It may not be simple, but it is quite doable. Just keep at it and your efforts will pay off.

Eat less, more often. You should be eating between 4-6 times per day. Balance all of your meals and snacks. Balanced means including a generous amount of whole grains, healthy proteins, and a small amount of fat from a healthy source (such as olive oil).

Proteins: * beans * tofu * lean meats

Carbs: * brown rice * whole grain bread

Vitamins: * vegetables (carb and vitamins) * fruits (carb and vitamins)

Whole grains are the base of every healthy diet. Don't confuse them with heavily processed grains, like white bread. These are almost wholly lacking in nutrients - they're just empty calories.

Consume as little as possible of: * soda * beer * candy * excessive fats * fried foods

When you've got the diet down, it's time to get a handle on the workouts. Cardiovascular exercises are key to properly toning and strengthening your body. Yoga, Pilates, swimming, running, and even walking, are all great cardio workouts.

Don't exercise for more than an hour a day. And don't do it every day. I know that this sounds strange, but it will still get the job done, without risking injuries, fatigue, and strains.

Schedule your snack times. Snacking should be done right after the exercising, when your metabolism is in overdrive. This will help you to burn the fats quickly.

Keep to your diet, and keep to your workout schedule. Do your best, and in just one month you may well see the results you've been looking for.

How to Exercise for a Flat Stomach

How to Exercise for a Flat Stomach by Brian Shelton

You might think that you need to spend thousands of dollars, or hundreds of hours, to exercise for a flat stomach. However, this isn't the case at all.

Every day, people all across the world head to the gym for hours of crunches to get a flat stomach. You can go into the fitness section of any bookstore and see dozens of books promising the secret of how to get a flat stomach.

Infomercials run across the television spectrum at all hours of the day and night selling gadgets, pills, proprietary plans, and secret knowledge, all claiming to give you a flat stomach instantly.

So, does any of it work? Scientists and fitness experts all say that no, it won't work by itself, and some of it won't work at all.

The keys to getting a flat stomach are still old-fashioned diet and exercise.

Here's a quick list of exercises that you can do at home, without any cash outlay. Just try these every other day, and try each one five to ten times in sequence.

* Curls * Crunches * Bicycles * Knee to Chest Stretch

A good cardiovascular workout plan is an excellent foundation for any exercise plan. Running, swimming, pilates, yoga, or even a plain old walk will benefit you greatly.

Try for at least three hours a week of exercise. It takes hard work to get a flat stomach, but don't overdo it. An hour at a time is quite enough. Otherwise, you can become fatigued and even injure yourself.

If you feel like snacking, it should be done right after your exercise. Your metabolism will be working overtime and you will burn fat much quicker than normal.

What many people don't understand is that sit-ups alone won't get you a flat stomach in days, if ever. Sit-ups will help tone a loose stomach, but if you really have belly flab, your first step needs to be losing that weight.

What did you have for breakfast? You probably don't remember, but it was most likely fat filled - donuts, sausages, french toast? Keeping your diet plan is just as important as keeping your exercise plan.

You will need to make a diet plan, and stick to it. If you want a flat stomach, you'll have to eat for it as well. Eating healthy food regularly isn't a hard thing to do, as long as you keep track of the foods you eat.

Eat frequent, small meals, between 4-6 times per day. Make sure to make each and every meal balanced. Balanced means including a generous amount of whole grains, healthy proteins, and a small amount of fat from a healthy source (such as olive oil).

Whole grains are the most important, white bread just doesn't cut it. Make whole grains the base of your diet and you'll have plenty of energy for exercise.

If you follow these guidelines, then your exercising will surely pay off. Keep it up, and keep at it.
